(It was almost certainly the last one of its kind)

March 26 saw our fourth ARISE Day, and we'd like to say we're getting the hang of it. We had an awesome keynote about aerial eDNA by Kristine Bohmann from the University of Copenhagen, an engaging lecture about the love for nature by writer Caspar Janssen, inspiring user stories and plenty of networking opportunities.

Deliverables delivered

We also had some updates about ARISE: we're getting the hang of that, too. If you're a Netherlands-based researcher using sensors, you can now plug your sensors into ARISE for easy data management and use of our species recognition AIs. If you are collecting specimens for our barcoding library (and your own research questions) our DNA dashboard is now live. Also quite nice: the data pipelines and storage that make all of this work, work.

So, what's next? Like a house, ARISE will never be finished. But at some point, a house is ready to live in. We're preparing for the official launch/house warming party in September, and preparing to have everything as finished as possible. Subscribe to our mailing list if you want to stay updated on all that we're doing. As more biodiversity programs have started and we are working toward an integrated large scale infrastructure for species discovery and recognition, a next event will mostly likely go beyond Arise. We're not yet sure what to call it - email us your suggestions!
